About the Business
Burncliffe Electrical Ltd, electricians based in Hexham Northumberland, was formed in December 2001 - previously John Cunningham Electrical Contractor, which had been established for 40 years. We took over all the existing electrical professionals, of which many are still with us today. The Directors were Mr Edwin Wilkinson (Managing Director), Mr Philip Wilkinson (Director) and Mrs Christine Pearson (Director). Edwin Wilkinson retired in October 2008 after selling his share of the business to his son Philip Wilkinson and Christine Pearson.
We still hold the old values of John Cunningham throughout the organisation - including a 4 year apprenticeship scheme of which the majority stay with the company. We look on our staff as members of our extended family with the pastoral side of the business playing a large part of re-training staff.

Hexham, Northumberland22nd December - Fused kitchen lights - Wife tearing her hair out - the receptionist at Burncliffe said “well we’re about to close until January 4th, but I’ll see if I have an electrician I can send around.” An hour later, lights were fixed, circuits tested, and all without fuss. Friendly expertise - thanks guys, 5 stars! Highly recommend.
